Harvest Moon Ds Cute Review
After the first ever HM game for NDS console was released earlier on March 2008, the girl version is released with a new name, Harvest Moon DS Cute. There isn't much difference between the boy and girl versions besides the obvious gender changes. At the beginning you’ll need to answer some question from the Goddess to determine which girl are you playing, it could be either Claire (BTN/MFOMT) or Pony (Another Wonderful Life). A few things have been added in. Just like the girl version of HM BTN, being a girl as protagonist brings some additional benefits and features, like how you can buy different colored outfit to wear, change carpet and wallpaper of the house with 6 different designs, more random events and not to mention the bachelors will change the color of their own clothing everyday! Other than those usual villagers and additional marriage candidate is introduced for our heroine, Skye, a handsome thief that will steal your heart! Addition to that, there’s also a special features called “Best Friend” which allows you to become best friends with Leia, Witch Princess, Keria, or Harvest Goddess and they’ll live in your house (instead of marrying other bachelors). However this is only available in Japanese version only. If the opening story for the boy is how the goddess were turned into a stone, in the girl version the story starts a little differently. Your deceased mother sent a wish to the Harvest King, asking his help to guide you to be a success on your farm. The Harvest Goddess is sent to your house in the middle of the night but while watching you sleep she decides that you do not have the motivation to fulfill your mother's dream. An argument ensues between the two Harvest leaders and the Goddess is punished for calling the Harvest King a "big baldy". The Sprites repeat the name calling after their leader is banished away, which results in them also sharing her fate. Now you have to find the Goddess and her Sprites and also be a success on your farm. At first the games sounds good especially with the new features, however, still with the same problem there are many bugs, too many characters, big map, and collection 101 sprites brings down the quality of the game. And the idea of ‘Best Friend System’ is quite odd after all. You can get a baby and it will be given to you by the Goddess! (Where did they get the baby from?) This game doesn’t impress me and therefore it will only receive 5/10.
