Rune Factory 2 Review
Rune Factory is a series-sequel- of Harvest Moon games that mixes farming and RPG-fighting, both in one game. Many players give a positive respond and ask for more, and now after a year, they’ve launched a new and improved game, Rune Factory 2. Several years has passed since Raguna and his friends defeated the evil plans of the Sechs Empire, and peace has came back to Norad Country. A boy called Kyle who is just old enough to begin his own journey stepped a village called Alvanna. Kyle took a break on the cherry blossom field and there a girl named Mana came to make appearance and they have a lil chat before Mana’s dad came to interrupt and try to stopped Mana from eloping with you. (yea, crazy story, eloping with someone whom you just met) Instead of lending a piece of land like in Rune Factory 1, in Rune Factory 2 you were tricked to bought a farm and some seeds from those two Father-Daughter merchant. Then your life will start, you need to work you own way in farming, ranching (monsters) and many other aspects. Rune Factory 2 consist of 2 generations, the first generation is Kyle and the in the 2nd generation you played as his child (girl/boy). There’s nothing much you can do in 1st generation as many places are still locked and you can only do a few things with old tools. As Kyle you can choose 65 bachelorettes available, each of them has a rival with exception of Mana, she’s free for you only :D . The story of 2nd starts with the scene where Kyle leave the house on stormy day, and that is the last time the kids ever see their Dad. They grew up, and taking over your farm. Along with that task you child can also date other children living in the town, have an official boyfriend or girlfriend. The child character has a storyline all of his/her own, and its up to you to figure whats going on and where Kyle – “Dad” went. One of the improvements over Rune Factory 1 is the inventory organization. Instead of having to go into your inventory to change accessories and armor, there are now Touch Pocket tabs in the lower left-corner of the DS touch screen. Tapping on these pockets will open up a larger window, where you can easily equip the items you need. Rune Factory 2 has a much better gameplay and easier control, therefore I’ll give 8.5/10
