Harvest Moon FOMT review
Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town, was first released on November 2003, which was first collaboration of Natsume and Marvelous Interactive Inc. The game was produced specially for Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance has brought joy to all Harvest Moon Fans from all over the world who has played the previous series, either from the same console or from a different one. The story of the game follows the previous Harvest Moon series, the player (male) went on vacation to Mineral Town, and he learned that his grandfather died a few years back leaving his farm. And the goal of our young farmer is to make some money and bring back the prosperity back to the farm and eventually get married. Initially there’s very little on the farm, an old house, a bag of seed and some old tools. The player must begin by clearing large field full of weeds, tree stumps, branches, and rocks varying in size. From there, you must plant variety of crops, earn money to buy other things like livestock, upgrading your tools, building houses, etc. in order to be successful. The social aspect of FoMT, as in other Harvest Moon games, is a very large part of the game. There are many villagers to befriend, and in doing so the player may unlock certain items and events that otherwise would be inaccessible. There are six eligible bachelorettes to choose from, including the Harvest Goddess. Once married, it is possible to have a son. Though the game’s setting of story, characters and town to another Harvest Moon game: Harvest Moon:Back to Nature (PS1). Friends of Mineral Town is in many ways, is an enhanced and improved version of it. Addition to it, not just more scenes and some unlockables, this game also offers connectivity with the Nintendo Game Cube game Harvest Moon: A wonderful Life, using a link cable between the Game Boy Advance and Nintendo Game Cube to unlock more secret characters. No matter how great a game is, there must be a few things that drive the game down, in this case, FoMT is the text, example the case where animal fodder written as chicken feed, or some sentences that doesn’t make any sense at all. (you can find these glitches on our website). This things might be a simple mistakes, but if you carefully examine them, there’s more than 5 mistakes that they’ve made. And for some people this could be quite annoying. On the other hand, still in technical field, though the text has some problems, they do improve on the music environment. They’ve put a sampled true cow, chicken, sheep and other farmy sound effects to it, which makes the game more enjoyable. For those who has missed Harvest Moon: Back To Nature in PS1 console, I would advise you all to try this great game. You won’t regret a thing!
