Harvest Moon ParadiseThe first shop you will come to when you leave your farm is the Blacksmiths Shop. Here you can buy a few tools needed for animal care, along with upgrading your existing tools. Below is a list of tools, upgrades and items along with their costs and requirments.
Animal Care Tools:
Brush: 800G
Milker: 2000G
Shears/Clippers: 1800G
Note- To purchase these, you must have an empty slot in your rucksack otherwise Saibara will tell you you don't have room. So make sure to put something in your toolbox at home before you try to buy these to save you the trip of running home, and then back to the Blacksmiths shop.
Makers:
Each maker will take 5 days to be made.
Mayo Maker: 20,000G + 1 Adamantite
Butter Maker: 20,000G + 1 Adamantite
Yarn Maker: 20,000G + 1 Adamantite
Note- The makers will not be available until you have upgraded the Hen House and/or the Animal Barn.
Jewelry:
Each peice of Jewelry will take 3 days to be made.
Jewelry: 1000G +1 Orichalcum
Tools:
Each tool will take 3 days after you ask for them to be upgraded. Make sure you wont need that tool during those 3 days before you ask for it to be upgraded.
To upgrade a tool there are a few steps needed.
You need to use your tools a certain amount of times before you can upgrade them.
You need to have the right type of ore from the Spring Mine behind the waterfall with you when you ask for the upgrade. To see how close you are to the next available upgrade press START to get your summary menu, press LEFT on the D-pad to display the page with your tools. Each tool will have a bar beside it, and a %. At first these bars will be empty and every tool will be at 0%. But as you use your tools the % will rise. When it gets to 100% you can upgrade it to Copper or level 2. You don't have to upgrade it to each level each time its available. You can keep on working and when it gets to 200% then silver is available, 300% gold and finally 400% mystrile [The blue rock].
To make it easier to tell when your tool is able to be upgraded a little dot will appear under the bar colored to the available upgrade. When the tool is upgraded make sure to charge up your tool to use it at the upgraded level, you can do this by holding down the SQUARE button until your character stops moving, the release. As a tip to save you money, try to get along with your Level 1 tools as long as you can. If you can go from level 1 to level 5 in one go, then you only have to upgrade them once, instead of all 4 times, and paying for each time. Taking a total of 11,000G that you would have to pay in all 4 upgrades to only 5000G for 1 upgrade to full.
To get Saibara to upgrade the proper tool to the level you want you must do 2 things before you talk to him. 1- Have the tool you want upgraded equipped in your active tool slot in your rucksack 2- Have the proper ore for the upgrade in your active item slot in your rucksack, your character will be holding it, like you would be giving it as a gift. Talk to Saibara, he will say hello then you will get the option box that pops up, it will say "Ask to upgrade tool" "Give ore as a gift" or "Nothing in particular" Select "Ask to upgrade tool" He will tell you the price and how long the job will take. Accept. Afterwards he will kick you out of his shop and it will be locked until your tool is ready. Make sure you have an empty slot in your rucksack when you go to pick up the tool, or he wont give it to you until you make space for it.
Below are the prices for each level upgrade and what they do for each tool:
Lvl1- Your tools start at lvl 1
Lvl2-Copper: 1000G
Lvl3-Silver: 2000G
Lvl4-Gold: 3000G
Lvl5Mystrile: 5000G
Note- Each upgrade takes 3 days
Axe:
Copper: Chop stumps in 6 hits
Silver: Chop stumps in 3 hits
Gold: Chop stumps in 2 hits
Mystrile: Chop Stumps in 1 hit
Watering Can:
Copper: Water a 1x3 area
Silver: Water a 2x3 area
Gold: Water a 3x3 area
Mystrile: Water a 4x3 area
Scythe/Sickle:
Copper: Cut a 1x3 area
Silver: Cut a 2x3 area
Gold: Cut a 3x3 area
Mystrile: Cut a 5x5 area
Note- With the Gold and Mystrile levels it will cut the grass around you, leaving you in the center, so be careful where you are standing when you use it so you dont accidentally cut down crops or hit your animals!
Hammer:
Copper: Smash large stones 3 hits
Silver: Smash large stones 2 hits, huge stones in 6 hits
Gold: Smash large stones in 1 hit, huge stones in 3 hits
Mystrile: Smash large stones in 1 hit, huge stones in 2 hits
Hoe:
Copper: Till a 1x2 area
Silver: Till a 1x3 area
Gold: Till a 1x4 area
Mystrile: Till a 1x5 area
