The Story starts with the view of the ocean. Takakura is narrating about someone coming to come look after the farm. Which is your character. Tak shows you around the farm and explains how your father and him built the farm together. And that after he passed away his last wish was for you to keep the farm going and turn it into a profitable farm with Tak to help. So the goal of the game is, just as every Harvest Moon game, Build your farm up, make money, friends and get married. Chapter System: In AWL the games progress goes by chapters. The Game is divided then into 6 different chapters. Each of these chapters covers a time period in the Valley and different things happen in each chapter. For example in each chapter all the characters age a little. Not noticeably at 1st though. At the end of Chapter 6 the game will end and you will get a special cut scene. Each year is 40 days long. So each season is 10 days long. Chapter 1: The Beginning -1 year long -You decide which girl you want to marry -You get started on your farm and try to make it successful as possible - You can start to befriend the different villagers Chapter 2: Happy Birthday - 2 years long - Begins around 3 years after chapter 1 - You and your wife have a baby who is already a toddler - Your house has been added on to - Hugh has grown up a little -Grant, Kate and Samantha move to the Valley. - The Dig site gets bigger - You can get Tartan and the Cat during this chapter - You can get ducks in an event -Galen has moved to a new house Chapter 3: Happy Harvesting -3 years long. -Begins a few years after the end of chapter 2. -Your child is a little older and you can give him gifts -Your house has been added on to again. - Hugh is a teenager. - Lumina is now an adult. Her clothing and the tune she plays at the piano have changed. - You can buy a teddy bear from Van. - The ruins have grown again Chapter 4: Happy Farm Life -2 years long. - Begins a few years after the end of chapter 3. - Your child is a teenager - Your house has been upgraded again - You and many people in the village have aged - Hugh and Kate are adults. - The ruins have grown again. Chapter 5: The Journeying Chapter -1 year long. -Begins a few years after the end of chapter 4. -The ruins are even bigger. -Your child will fall in love with either Kate or Lumina Chapter 6: The Twilight Chapter -1 year long. - You've aged again and many more villagers have as well - Your son is now sure of what he wants to do with his life.
