Harvest Moon AWL Review
Released in March of 2004 for the Nintendo Game Cube. Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life is a very high detailed farming simulator game. Differing from previous versions with the bird’s eye view of the game you get to play in 3rd person view. That’s one of my favorite features of the game. Graphics are very sharp and clear and quite realistic as far as the game cube goes. Compared to other Harvest Moon games AWL has a slower pace. In previous versions of Harvest Moon time went by 10’s. That is 10 minutes game time would work but to be 5 seconds real time. In AWL every minute equals 1 second. That being said each game day in AWL runs anywhere from 12-24 minutes. This gives you lots of extra time to do lots of other stuff besides the main slog of the story. Unlike other versions of Harvest Moon there aren’t any big festivals like the Horse Race. Each season only has 10 days instead of 30. In Awl there are only 3 girls for you to choose from. All are good choices though. As for collectables there are many special tools you can get by befriending the villagers. Lots of new crops and new animals to raise. Along with a hybrid crop option later on. Many people dislike AWL because of its slow pace. But if you like more laid back games and enjoy realistic graphics and such then I recommend giving AWL a try. My rating for AWL would have to be 10/10
