Well that was a day and a half.

As the title says..Mack got out again. Here he is, looking all smug when i found him this morning:

Funny thing is I didnt even notice until I went to feed the horses this morning. I had let the dogs out and was on my way to feed the horses. I fed Starzie and Koko and I got to Finn, Rusty and Mack’s pen and I noticed Mack wasn’t there. I saw the poll knocked on the ground, the same one he broke yesterday when he escaped. Naturally I started to panic because he wasn’t anywhere to be found him way back behind the house under the spruce trees. I decided to follow the same procedureas yesterday. I took a bucket and filled it with cut up apples and grain. Locked Finnand Rusty in the outer pen and opened the gate into their inner pen. I had to get Mack to follow me by giving him a bit of apple every few feet as he followed me. It was difficult at 1st because the dogs kept trying to see what was in the bucket. At one point I was holding out a peice of apple and just before Mack took it Curly jumped up out of nowhere and took the apple. What kind of dog eats fricking apples? lol. So I put them in their pen to make things easier. Finally I got mack back in his pen. After that I ot a drill and some 3 1/2 screws and screwed the pole into the fence so it can’t be knocked out again.

After that I went inside to get some breakfast, Mike showed up early to see if we can fix the water trough problem. We were out there for a good 3.5 hours in the wind and snow. It was borderline blizzard. Only thing I can think of is how much of a wuss Jack is. If its a “blizzard” day he can’t even go outside. While we were out there my main job, besides holding the lid open on the water trough for Mike, was to distract the horses. They are so curious. Rusty has taken a real liking to me. He kept nudging me to pet him and nibbled my clothes. Not biting but playful nibbling. It was cool tho to feel a bonding feeling with an animal as large as a horse. I asked Mike about some of the things Rusty was doing like the nibbling and nudging and at one point he curled his upper lip and showed me his big yellow teeth lol. Mike said that all those actions were signs of affection and submissiveness. Like I said once my sister gets here on friday I will post more vids and I will post some vids of me and the horses. Im also going to try brushing them one day, which should be fun.

All in all, today was spent in the cold. But it was fun being near the horses most of the day. Since I was busy helping fix stuff I didnbt get much time to take pics besides the pic of Mack when he was escaped. So I made a quick map of the farm on paint earlier so you can see the layout of the farm. Hopefully the lines aren’t too confusing, but I couldn’t think of a better way to lay out the map.
