Day 17: If you want to have a farm, don’t get animals

As my title for Day 17 states. Don’t get animals. If you want to try your hand at farming do it with crops. Their much quieter, less annoying and they don’t escape.

Woke up this morning with intentions to have a good day. And the 1st half of it was. My Mom and Dad came up for a visit and I watched some movies and played videogames. Then it went downhill from there.

I went to collect the eggs and it turned out that Mikes wife, Teri, when she had cleaned out the chicken coop yesterday had accidentally locked one of the chickens out of the heated coop in the little unheated hallway between the coop entrance and the door to outside. The poor thing was huddled up next to the door sitting on an egg. I picked it up and put it inside the coop and a speech bubble with “…” came up. I knew it wasn’t happy. Got 14 eggs today.

Then not long after supper we heard what sounded like a gunshot. Then it turned out the stupid neighbors were setting off fireworks and it spooked the dogs. Red and Curly went and hid in their pen. But Turk in his infinite wisdom bolted over to the horse pen, climbed the fence, and then was gone faster then speedy gonzales with a bum full of dynamyte. He was way out of range of the dog collar remote by the time I was able to get out to where he jumped the fence. So now I have no idea where he is, its after 10pm at night and its snowing.. So I left some gates open and the door into the barn open so if he decides to come back in the night at least he will have a semi-warm place to sleep. Now Im going to be worried all night wondering where Turk is and if he is alright.

And on top of that now that mack is in the pen with the other 2 horses they won’t let him eat. So I climbed over the fence to take him some hay, then Starzie and koko start following me wanting that hay. So I tossed it to mack they chase him away and then eat that, so i managed to get Mack to follow me back to the stable where the 1st bunch of hay was tossed so he could eat that. Fortunatly that worked so he was able to eat.

Red and Curly are barking and whining..I can hear it from the house thru the window. Probably calling for Turk. I hope he finds his way back. There isn’t much I can do to go find him, the field he ran across is about a mile wide and has about 2ft of snow in it. So not sure what Im supposed to do.

Be sure to check in tomorrow to find out if I find Turk or not.

On a lighter note, its snowing so now tomorrow I should be able to post those videos Ive been trying to get around to taking. Keep your fingers crossed for Turk and for videos tomorrow.

Until tomorrow,
Stay Frosty
